SUMMARY

FaxPress v6.2 SP2  and later offers the new add on from Fabsoft called “Reform”.  Before installing Reform you will need the following:

1.      Name of the FaxPress server installed on your network.

2.      FaxPress user name and password to use with Reform.

3.      The FaxPress client must be installed and functional (can log into the FaxPress and send and receive a fax) on the system that will be running reform.

4.      The FaxPress client must be able to successfully send a fax with a *.tif file attachment.

Note: As with any installation, make sure all anti-virus software and other programs are turned off before beginning the Reform installation.

DISCUSSION

To install the “Reform” add on from the FaxPress v6.2 SP2 (and later) CD perform the following steps:

1.      Insert the FaxPress CD.  If auto run is enabled the “Castelle FaxPress Setup” main screen should come up.  If the screen does not come up then browse to the root of the CD drive and double click on “autorun.exe”.

2.      Select the “Install FaxPress” button.

3.      Click next on the “Welcome to FaxPress” screen and the “Select Components” screen will appear.

4.      Select the  “Administrator Installation will install:” button.

5.      Another “Select Components” screen will appear.

6.      Select the “Add On Products” button.

7.      Click next on the “FaxPress Add On Products” screen and another “Select Components” screen will appear.

8.      Select the “Reform for Windows 95/98/NT/2000” button.  This will launch the “Reform Setup – Castelle FaxPress edition”.

9.      Select Next.

10. Select the “I accept the license agreement” and hit the next button on the “Software license agreement” screen.

11. Enter your name and company name at the “User Information” screen and select next.

12. At the “Choose destination location” screen choose the location to install the Reform software.  The default is c:\reform. Select next.

13. At the “Setup Type” screen choose custom.  Select next.

14. At the “Select Features” screen make sure that “Castelle’s FaxPress” is chosen to be installed under the “Fax Plug Ins” option.  Select next.

15. Wait for the files to copy.

16.  Select finish.

You can now either install another add on product or exit the FaxPress setup program completely.

Note:  After installing the Reform add on you will need to configure the Reform Spooler and use the Reform “Form Designer” to create forms which will be applied to the text files dropped into the Reform spooler directory.

To test the Reform/FaxPress integration:

Open the Reform “Form Designer” and open the file “faxpresspo.fom” (typically located in the c:\reform\forms directory).  If prompted to open the associated text file select yes, otherwise after the form is open select “Open text file” from the File menu and choose the file “faxpresspo.out”, typically located in the directory c:\reform\backups.

Next, Go to the file menu and choose Page Setup.  In the Page Setup dialog the “Send To” radio button should be chosen with “Castelle” as the destination.  Choose the “Setup” button and a dialog will come up that allows you to choose the Fax Server, User and Password.  Fill out the fields with the appropriate information and save the settings.
