Migrating from one Network
server IE Novell or Microsoft to another of the same type

DESCRIPTION
In the event that you need to move your FaxPress from one server such as
Novell or Microsoft to another server of the same type there are two
options available.
Option 1
1. Turn off or unplug the FaxPress.
2. Copy the complete \Castelle directory to
the drive on the new server where you want it to be located.
3. On the original server rename the
\Castelle directory to \Castelle.old.
4. Turn on\plug in the FaxPress (it will
come up to an alert status).
5. Run the FaxPress server installation
again from your cd on the new file server
and choose the drive to which you copied the \Castelle directory.
6. Once the installation is complete and
your FaxPress is back at a ready condition you should be able to log into
it as one of the existing users. The settings, users, phonebooks and
faxes should all have been retained. If the unit only has the default
users then you installed to the wrong directory and created a new
installation. You should re-install and make sure you choose the correct
location.
Option 2
1. Turn off or unplug the FaxPress.
2. Rename the \Castelle directory on the
current server to \Castelle.old
3. Turn on\plug in your FaxPress (it will
come up to an alert status).
4. On the new server do a new installation
of the FaxPress server software.
5. Your FaxPress server should then come up
in a ready condition.
6. Verify that you can log in to FaxPress as
the supervisor user (no password required)
7. If you are successful then power the
FaxPress unit down.
8. On the new installation go to the
\Castelle\serial number\ directory and rename both the \user and
\phonebook directories to \user.old and \phonebook.old.
9. Copy the corresponding directories
(including subdirectories) from the original \Castelle\serial number\
directory.
10. Next go to the \system directory under
the \Castelle\serial number directory and rename the coverpg to
coverpg.old.
11. Copy the coverpg file from the original
\Castelle\serial number\system directory.
12. Finally, copy the linechn.a and fxcfgn.a
files (n= line number) from the old \Castelle\ serial number\system
directory to the new \Castelle\ serial number\system directory. Overwrite
the existing files.
13. Turn on\plug in the FaxPress. It
should come up to a Ready condition (Green LED).
