DISCUSSION

The FaxPress connects to the Mitel switch using standard analog ports. In order to use in band DTMF      integration from various DOD numbers, phantom extension numbering and abbreviated dialing are required.

First connect the FaxPress to analog ports and program the first to busy call forward to the second, or put them into a hunt group together.

Next setup a “phantom” extension for each DID that is to have a fax mailbox. These extensions will need to be programmed onto button assignments of an unused superset extension port.

Establish an abbreviated dialing number customized to integrate with the FaxPress. It will first have the FaxPress hunt group pilot number followed by a couple of pauses long enough to allow the unit time to answer, then it must have a command to output DTMF of the forwarding extension number, add a pause at the end then have it hang up.

Using the attendant console, Call Forward All Calls of each phantom extension that you have established to the Abbreviated Dial Number.
